The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to speedily resolve the crises in Polytechnics and Colleges of Education so that many of the idle youths in the country would get back to school.
Moving a motion under matters of urgent national importance, a lawmaker, Ibrahim Shehu-Gusau said that the industrial action by lecturers in polytechnics and colleges of education which has lasted nine months might lead frustrated students into getting involved in vices that would add to the security crises in the country.
The Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Suleiman Aminu, however, noted that negotiations were ongoing to resolve the issues but said that the leaders of the two unions ASUP and COEASU were not being carried along in the dialogue.
