A petrol-laden truck on Thursday fell and crushed a commercial bus at Asubiaro area of Osogbo.
Our
correspondent gathered that no life was lost in the crash which some
said was caused by the deplorable condition of the road, which many
motorists have abandoned.
The accident was said to have occurred barely two minutes after the passengers in the bus disembarked due to a flat tyre.
Some
residents of the area said the 33,000-litre capacity fuel tank pulled
off from the vehicle when it ran into a big pothole on the road.
Another
eyewitness, who gave a contrary account of how the accident happened,
said the tank disengaged from the truck head while the driver was
ascending the hilly road.
The tank was said to have fallen on a commercial bus parked by the road side and spilled its content on the road.

Some residents trooped out on seeing fuel gushing out from the tanker and started scooping fuel from the crashed tanker.
Policemen
and officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps cordoned
off the road and ensured that those who did not have business there were
fenced away from the scene in case of fire outbreak.
