On this page you'll find a run down of all the best LG G4 deals. It's one of the top phones around right now, with myriad features like a brilliant camera, one of the sharpest screens on the market, and a genuinely different design that both sits nicely in the hand and, should you go for the leather variant, offers something really alternative from all the boring blocky designs on offer. On top of that, it's one of the easier phones on the wallet too.

Seriously, this thing is top of the line. One of the great features is the amount of control you have with the camera, and the resulting pictures are so good that it's often hard to believe that they come from a phone. It uses lasers to autofocus in a ridiculously short 0.6 seconds, and with the ability to alter every single element of the camera, from ISO to focus, there's little to dislike here.

LG G4: Fact file:

Right then, from the top - the LG G4 is nothing less than a monster and for not all that much money. That starts with a gargantuan 5.5-inch IPS display complete with a preposterous 2,560 by 1,440 pixel native resolution. The next result is a sky-high pixel density of 538ppi. Yowsers.

The screen is protected by a shield of Corning Gorilla Glass 3, through which you'll be able to enjoy LG's Optimus UX UI skinning the 5.1 version of Google's Android Lollipop OS. Providing processing power is a Snapdragon 808 processor. So that's two high-performance 1.82GHz cores doing the heavy lifting and a quartet of smaller, lower clocked cores for when battery life is the priority.

Camera-wise, we're talking 16MP and 4K video capture. The added twist is a laser autofocus function. The battery, meanwhile, is a big old thing at 3000mAh and is claimed by LG to be good for up to 20 hours of talktime. Storage rocks in at 32GB plus a MicroSD slot and system memory is 3GB.

Our verdict

The LG G4 is a phone that's designed to keep building LG's ever-improving reputation in the smartphone market, following the worldwide success of the LG G3.

A pat on LG's back, therefore, for doing it a little differently with the design: the leather back and deftly curved chassis combine for a nice diversion from the smartphone norm, just the sort of thing that anyone looking to not be a 'me-too' brand should be doing.

The screen is large, expansive and rich. It's one of the best on the market. The great colour reproduction and sharpness are to die for. The camera, on the other hand, can overdo the sharpness and LG has repeated its usual trick of fuzzing the edges of some darker snaps. But overall the pictures are pretty great and the low light capabilities exquisite.

On the other hand, battery life isn't great. You may well find just getting through the day without topping up the charge is tricky. The leather back, meanwhile, really doesn't work. It doesn't feel like a proper leather.

Overall, then, the issues are around the ergonomics the larger phone brings, the poor choices in leather and plastic and the battery life. And yet the super-low price means the G4 is still awfully compelling.
