E3 2016: Alienware teases its virtual reality backpack

Alienware already announced a ton of desktops at E3 2016, but it also had a virtual reality backpack up its sleeve.

Meet Alienware's VR backpack designed in conjunction with Zero Latency, a multiplayer free-roam VR experience similar to The Void. The version you see above is only a very early working concept and in fact it doesn't even have a name yet.

The outside shell looks very similar to HP's own concept portable virtual reality system, but it seems to have more in common with Zotac's VR Backpack. The underlying system is actually an Alienware Alpha, which was just introduced with Intel Core i5 processors.

Normally the system would be powered by a Nvidia 960M graphics chip, but Alienware explained it is working closely with AMD, so potentially it could be running with Polaris graphics such as the Radeon RX 480.
