North-East youths under the aegis of North-East Youth Peace
Development and Empowerment Initiative, NEYPDI, has commended Senate
President, Dr. Bukola Saraki for the confirmation of all ministerial
nominees sent by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The National President, NEYPDI, Alhaji Kyari Idris Abubakar in a
statement described the action of Saraki as a demonstration of
commitment and loyalty to the goals and agenda of All Progressives
Congress (APC).
He said: “We commend the decision of Senate President to confirm all the list of senatorial nominees sent to the National Assembly despite the opposition to some nominees by PDP senators.”
Abubakar further stated that by refusing to bow to the pressure mounted by opposition senators to stop the screening and confirmation of former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, Saraki has written his name in gold and history would not forget him in a hurry.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the new ministers to work with President Buhari in his goal of transforming the country to an enviable height that would be the delight of every Nigerians.
“There is no doubt that the ministers to be sworn in soonest are capable of working towards the transformation of the country,” he added.
Abubakar who however, expressed regret over the devastating effect of Boko Haram to the economy of North-East geo-political zone, appealed to local and international organizations to be involved in the reconstruction of the zone.
