THE wife of Mr. Adetona Olayimika, an Ughelli-based businessman who
was kidnapped 9 days ago on his way home from work at Ughelli, Delta
State, has cried out to the abductors to release her husband.
Mrs. Seme Olyimika, while speaking to Vanguard on phone, stated that she is very scared over the condition of her husband as his abductors who had been contacting her on modalities to get her husband released, have suddenly stopped calling her.
“My husband doesn’t even own a car, I wonder where they expect us to raise money to give them for his ransom,” she added.
Vanguard gathered from a reliable family source that the abductors had contacted his wife demanding N8 million as ransom for his release.
Meanwhile, security operatives in Ughelli including the police and the local vigilante have promised to do everything within its power to rescue the victim and arresting his abductors.
Speaking on measures put in place by the police in checkmating the activities of criminals in Ughelli and its environs, a senior police officer attached to the Ughelli Division ‘A’ police station explained that men of the division have increased their search operations to rescue the victim unhurt.
