The Young Entrepreneurship’ Club introduced by Lagos State Technical
and Vocational Education Board, LASTVEB has birthed at the Government
Technical College, Ikotun, Lagos.
According to the Director of LASTVEB, Engr. Laolu Oguntuyi, the aims of the Club is to foster entrepreneurial thinking, promote business knowledge and instill confidence in every student at the college.
He said: ” An entrepreneur is a creative innovator who sets on initiative, seeks and maximises opportunity, takes a calculated risk and passionately drives it to a worthwhile conclusion.”
Oguntuyi who noted that the Club has the growth potential to become the largest club in the college, urged external and internal stakeholders to invest financially and intellectually in the club.
Similarly, the Principal of the College, Mr Adaramola S. maintained that the ideal solution for unemployment is to change the mind set of people from searching for white collar jobs to being self reliant.
“The mind set of our young people must be changed because when their reasoning is right the problem will be solved,” he said.
According to him, “the rationale behind the Young Entrepreneurship Club is for young people who are full of strength and vigour to successfully tap and tailor the potentials towards job creation.”
