The days of running out of space on your iPhone could be over if rumours from Chinese website MyDrivers are to be believed: sources say this year's iPhone 7 Plus is going to come with a 3,100 mAh battery and the option of 256GB of internal storage.
The current iPhone 6S Plus packs a 2,750 mAh battery, so in theory that's an improvement of around 12 percent on paper. It sounds like the predicted upgrades won't be coming to the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 7 though.
MyDrivers doesn't have the best track record for accurate iPhone leaks, so don't take this as certain just yet - but improvements in storage space and battery life are always popular with users, so it's plausible that Apple would be looking to boost these specs.
iPhone space race
Walk into an Apple Store today and you can get yourself an iPhone 6S or iPhone 6S Plus with 16GB, 64GB or 128GB of room on board. If the rumours are true, the new 256GB level would give power users twice the room for their files - remember the 2015 models can record video in 4K.
It's not clear from the MyDrivers report what would happen to the 16GB storage level, but it's possible that Apple wants to make a clear distinction between the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus that goes beyond the sizes of the screens and chassis frames.
We've also heard that the iPhone 7 will have a bezel-free, all-metal design and feature a thinner headphone jack. If you're already tired of the iPhone 7 speculation, take heart: September is only eight months away.
