First glimpse of the HTC One M10 confirms earlier rumours

HTC hasn't had the best of fortunes in recent years, at least as far as smartphones are concerned, but the HTC One M10 looks like being a phone worth waiting for: we're hearing rumours of a new design, an upgraded camera and a waterproof chassis.

Now we have our first real tease of what the incoming handset looks like, thanks to well-respected serial leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks): Blass has tweeted out a picture of the phone and it looks very minimal in style.

HTC One M10 leak

That would follow in the footsteps of the HTC One A9, an interim release that essentially puts Android on a phone that looks like an iPhone. However, this time HTC is said to be going even further - the long-standing front-facing HTC logo has apparently been ditched.

Glamour shot

We'd already heard hints from the same source that the One M10 would look at lot like the One A9 and it looks like that's going to be spot on. Based on the article Blass linked to we're looking at a phone with a QHD AMOLED display and a laser-assisted 12 Ultrapixel camera.

If you're not happy with the look of this leaked image, don't give up on the HTC One M10 just yet. "Truth is, I've seen a more glamorous shot of this phone, and it looks better," said the tipster in a follow-up tweet. "Wait until the company shows you before passing judgement."

HTC has been so particular in getting the phone right that it's likely to miss Mobile World Congress in February and launch sometime in March instead. Nevertheless, we shouldn't have too long to wait to see what's in store.
