LG G5 hasn't been announced, but LG went ahead and showed us its official case

LG isn't leaving much to the imagination when it comes to its forthcoming LG G5 announcement at MWC 2016, and that goes doubly for its form-fitting new case.

The official LG G5 Quick Cover case wraps the new flagship Android phone in semitransparent mesh metal, which leaves tiny openings through which to see incoming call notifications.

Like the LG K10 Quick Cover View, you can actually swipe right on calls and answer them without ever flipping open the protective cover. It responds to touch even when it's closed.

There's also a big cut out near the top for the newly announced LG G5 always-on display that acts as a second screen. Through this window, you can see the time, date and up to four notifications icons.

Case closed on metal LG G5 specs

LG is clearly poking fun of its many announcements and leaks before the actual LG G5 reveal at MWC, where we'll see the phone in full on February 21.

The company goes as far as saying that the always-on display is "rumored to be a feature in the highly anticipated LG G5," according to its own official press release.

It goes on to state that the Quick Cover uses a unique film and glossy metallic finish for a smooth and luxurious look to complement the LG G5, tipping us off that the phone will be made of metal.

Sure, the LG G4 was plastic with a metallic paint, and while that could technically happen again given the open-ended "metallic finish" statement, that wouldn't be very "luxurious," now would it?
