Want an AI-imbued smart speaker on the cheap? Check out Google Home, the Mountain View-based company’s take on cylindrical form factor that’s launching everywhere today.
The pint-sized smart home hub is on sale at places like Best Buy, Target and Walmart for $129.
But why pick Google Home over its main contender, the Amazon Echo?
Well, it’s cheaper, obviously. But moreover it plays nicely with other Google devices like Nest thermostats, Google Chromecast and other Google Cast-enabled devices like Vizio’s SmartCast speakers – as well as devices from Honeywell, Ecobee, Philips and Belkin.
It’s also more customizable, too. Don’t like the all white coloring? You can pick up new bases from the Google Play Store for around $20.
